Lynn Smith
for Vermont House

Considering a bid for the Vermont House of Representatives is a daunting task. What do I know about politics? Vermont bills its legislature as a “citizen legislature,” and even though I know little about the nuts and bolts of politics, I do qualify as a concerned citizen.

I’m Lynn Smith, a 32 year resident of the Town of Essex Junction, a wife of 45 years, a mother of 3 and grandmother of 8. As a private piano teacher, I run a small business from my home. My interests include (but are not limited to!) DIY home decorating projects, gardening, sewing, playing piano, and thrifting. Oh, and I love to cook. Most Saturday evenings will find our family of 15 gathered for a home cooked meal. Family favorites include homemade rolls, southern sweet tea, fried chicken, meatloaf, almost any kind of roast and many seasonal favorites.

Though not a native Vermonter, I have lived in Chittenden County for 45 years. Experiencing Vermont’s simple and beautiful lifestyle has been a joy.  However, I see our lifestyle being whittled away by special interest groups as well as a general disrespect for law and order. Our current legislature has turned a deaf ear to our pleas for less tax burden as well as finding the core reason for our prohibitive cost of living.

I ask for your support to be a new voice in Montpelier. I want to hear your concerns about-as well as your praise for-what you consider to be noteworthy in our Chittenden 23 district. Please consider voting for Lynn Smith, both in the August 13 primary as well as the November 5 election.
